Jason D. Miller, DVM
Dr. Jason Miller, "Dr. Jay", was born and raised in Logan County. In 1994 he graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science. In 1998 he graduated magna cum-laude from Kansas State University with a degree in Veterinary Medicine. In 2009 Dr. Jay graduated from the University of Illinois Executive Veterinary Program in Swine Health Management.
After graduating from Kansas State University, Dr. Jay worked in a multiple doctor, mixed animal practice. He then practiced in western Illinois as a swine consultant. In 2003 he started Timbercrest Veterinary Service, a full service veterinary hospital in Atlanta, Illinois.
Dr. Jay is a member of AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association), AASV (American Association of Swine Veterinarians), AABP (American Association of Bovine Practitioners), and ISVMA (Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association).
Dr. Jay enjoys spending time with his three children Ashley, Lane, and Tyler. They enjoy showing cattle and spending time outdoors together.

Sara Fluty, DVM
Dr. Sara Fluty grew up on a farm outside Mattoon, Illinois. She attended the University of Illinois where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science in 2009, as well as her degree in Veterinary Medicine in 2013.
Dr. Fluty is a member of AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association), ISVMA (Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association), and AABP (American Association of Bovine Practitioners).
Shortly after graduation, she and her husband Steve were married. Currently, they live in rural Bloomington near Steve’s dairy farm. While much of her time outside of work is spent helping on the farm, Dr. Fluty also enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, and showing Brown Swiss dairy cattle.
In addition to the cattle, other members of the Fluty family include two dogs and two cats. Minnie is a heeler mix who was adopted two years and is working on her socialization skills to become less timid. Django is also a heeler mix that she adopted in July of 2016 and is working on his basic commands. Apple is a 10 year old tabby cat who Dr. Fluty got in college, and Lionheart is a previous barn cat they rescued after an injury that fractured his pelvis and femur.

Lara Borgerson, DVM
Dr. Lara Borgerson joined the Timbercrest Veterinary Service team in January of 2015 as a small animal practitioner. After graduating from Mt. Pulaski High School, Dr. Borgerson earned her undergraduate and veterinary degrees from the University of Illinois, graduating with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1994. Dr. Borgerson completed extensive medical and surgical post graduate training during an Internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. Although she loved her time in Manhattan, she missed her family in central Illinois and returned in 1998 to practice here in Lincoln.
Dr. Borgenson enjoys all aspects of small animal practice and finds that building lifelong relationships with her patients and clients is one of the most satisfying parts of her career. When not in the office, Dr. Borgerson enjoys birding, hiking, gardening, playing and singing in church choirs, and discovering a new book when her own pets are not sitting in her lap!

Erica Holt, Certified Veterinary Technician
Erica is originally from northern Illinois, but has lived in the area since 1999. After receiving her BS in Animal Science from the University of Illinois, she later decided to return to school to continue her education. She graduated from the Parkland College Veterinary Technology program in 2012. Her hobbies include gardening, fishing, watching movies and taking care of her variety of animals. She lives on a small farm with her husband, two dogs Chance and Cletus, 4 cats and a variety of chickens and ducks.

Kaci Batterton, Receptionist
Kaci joined us in January of 2011 as a Receptionist. Kaci graduated from Parkland Community College in 2007 with a degree in Fine Arts and Illinois State University in 2009 with a Bachelors of Science degree. Originally from Tuscola, she is the youngest of five girls and enjoys spending time with her family as well as her three nieces and nephew. Kaci enjoys golfing, going to the lake in the summer and tailgating at Illini football games in the fall with her family and friends.
She and her husband live in McLean County . They are searching for the right pet to join their family. Kaci has always been an animal lover and hopes to have an English Bulldog one day.

Koree Leesman, Receptionist
Koree was born in Bradenton, Florida and moved to Illinois with her family in 1998. She attended Taylorville High school until 2009 and then went onto Midwest Technical Institute to become a certified Dental Assistant in 2011. Koree worked in the dental field for four years before joining us here at Timbercrest. Koree is the youngest of two children and enjoys spending time with her older brother, his wife, and their four boys. Koree married her husband in 2014 and together they have 5 pets; 2 dogs and 3 cats. Izzy who is a 7 year old rescued Shih Tzu, Piper who is a 2 year old rescued Chocolate Lab, and their cats Sis, Hattie, and Opal who are all tabby cats who were all found abandoned. In her free time Koree enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, traveling in her camper to state parks, and of course spending time with her pets.

Sonia Steiger, Receptionist
Sonia Joined the Timbercrest team in 2014 as a Receptionist. Sonia grew up in Monticello, IL on a Quarter horse farm. After High School Sonia attended Parkland Community College for one year majoring in Equine Management. Sonia then married her husband in 2015 and they now have two beautiful girls and one handsome baby boy. Her husband, who grew up on a cattle farm, got Sonia interested in the cattle industry about 4 years ago, so together they now manage a herd of Red Angus cattle. They also have an Austrian Shepherd named Blue, cats, donkeys, and horses. In Sonia's spare time, she enjoys being outside at cattle shows/sales and going to barrel racing events. She also enjoys spending time with her wonderful family and taking the girls to their various activities.

Sarah Huffman, Veterinary Assistant
Sarah joined our team in 2015 as a Veterinary Assistant. Sarah grew up on a small horse farm in DeWitt County where she showed a verity of breeds of horses and goats in 4-H. In high school Sarah was the President of the Clinton FFA chapter and her 4-H club. Sarah graduated from Richland Community College in 2013 with an associates degree in Science where she was a member of Phi theta Kappa and Illinois State University in 2015 with a Bachelors degree in Animal Science and Agribusiness. While at ISU she was involved in Ag Science club and Alpha Zata.
Sarah Still resides in Dewitt County with all of her fur babies. She has two horses, Zip an Appaloosa gelding and Sundae a paint gelding. Sarah also has a Toy Poodle, Bear, who acts like a guard dog while hiding behind the couch and a cat, Mia, who was orphaned at three weeks old. Outside of Timbercrest Sarah enjoys spending time with her family and friends as well as pampering all of her fur babies.

Ashley Reynolds, Veterinary Assistant
Ashley joined the Timbercrest team in 2016. Ashley currently lives in Mt. Pulaski but grew up on a small livestock farm outside of Downs, Illinois. Ashley alongside her two brothers, Adam and Austin, showed Hampshire sheep in 4-H. While in 4-H Ashley was the President of her 4-H club, the Downs Top Notchers. In high school, Ashley was an active member in FFA as well as played softball. She graduated from the University of Illinois in 2015 with Honors and a Bachelors Degree in Animal Science. While attending the U of I, Ashley was a member of the Pre-Vet club, Companion Animal club, and the Alpha Zata Morrow Chapter. In Ashley's spare time she love spending time outdoors whether it be fishing, running, gardening, or going on walks with her Husky mix, Balto. Ashley also enjoys going to flea markets and antique shops with her mother and spending time with other family members and animals which include her cats, chickens and sheep.

Brie Birky, Receptionist
Brie was born in Chickasha, Oklahoma and then moved to Illinois shortly after. Brie attended Olympia High School until she graduated in 2015. While in High school Brie was a member of the marching band, choir, cheer squad, and swim team. She then spent a year at Eureka College studying Biology and as a member on the Eureka swim team. Brie is the second of four children and loves camping, spending time with her family, and being outside. Brie has a German Shepherd named Simba that she adopted from the Logan County Animal Shelter in August of 2016. Brie also has a cat named Luna that she rescued from her neighborhood.
